Why use the REDARC BCDC1225D?
People operating four wheel drives or towing vehicles are often equipped with two types of battery technologies – the primary being lead based acid while the secondary may be AGM or perhaps a Lithium* battery. It can be difficult for the secondary to be efficiently maximised in this case as the charge may be low. This is why the BCDC1225D is beneficial, it boosts performance by providing charging compensation and options from where power is drawn from.*The REDARC BCDC1225D does not support a Lithium charge when under bonnet as the temperature can reach dangerous levels.
The BCDC1225D is a 3 stage battery charger and a battery isolator in one. It isolates the start battery when the ignition is off and works as a float*, boost and absorption based charger. The REDARC BCDC1225D makes up for any wiring that is low voltage that is connected to it and helps keep auxiliary batteries from relying on the power from the alternator for their charge rage. When you need a little or a lot more battery charging capacity output from your charging system then the BCDC1225D can ensure you have the power required on demand. It is capable of simultaneously charging from solar and alternator; features a maximum power points tracking (MPPT) solar regulator so you can connect to solar panels. The built-in Green Power Priority sets solar as the primary mode of charging which puts less strain on your alternator. *The float option is not suitable when used on Lithium.
Summary of differences between the new REDARC BCDC1225D, BCDC1225, & BCDC1225LV
1. The ability to charge common lead acid auxiliary batteries as well as lithium iron phosphate batteries.
2. The BCDC1225D dual input battery charger, charges from solar and DC inputs simultaneously .
3. No external relay is required as with the BCDC1225 and BCDC1225LV.
4. Built in ‘Green Power Priority’ it will select solar first, meaning less load on the alternator.
5. Compatible with standard and variable voltage/smart alternators.
6. The 9-32 volt input range makes this model compatible with 12 volt and 24 volt systems .
7. The front panel features 7 LEDs to display the charge profile and charge status.
